Terms of Business

Our terms of business, fee policy, data protection, and other practical information.

A case will be handled by the lawyer we consider best suited to represent it, unless we specifically agree otherwise with the client.

Once we have received a case, we agree with the client on what our advice will entail.

We always issue an order confirmation to private clients when we begin work on a case. Clients with an ongoing business relationship may also request an order confirmation for individual matters.

We retain and copy original documentary material as needed. Original material is returned to the client upon conclusion of the matter.

We keep the client regularly informed of the progress of the matter by forwarding copies of the case correspondence. We correspond via secure email.

We archive the matter upon conclusion and retain it in our archive for a minimum of 5 years.

We bill our work based on the time spent on the matter.

Hourly rates for lawyers are normally between DKK 2,000 and DKK 3,000, and for trainee lawyers normally between DKK 1,000 and DKK 2,000. Rates are subject to VAT.

Billing will as a general rule be carried out on an ongoing basis by means of interim invoices at the end of each quarter and upon conclusion of the matter.

Payment terms are eight days net. Interest will accrue on late payments in accordance with the Danish Interest Act.

NEXLAW is organised as a partnership (I/S) between the three partners [Contact Name], Albert Juul Digens, and Sabine Shin-Ja Buhl.

All our employees are bound by a duty of confidentiality regarding all information from or about our clients.

Our liability is limited to an insurance sum of DKK 15,500,000 under our professional indemnity insurance with HDI Danmark via insurance broker AON Danmark A/S.

Pursuant to section 4(1) of the Danish Consumer Complaints Act, clients dissatisfied with the advice provided or the fee charged may submit a complaint to the Danish Bar and Law Society's Disciplinary Board at www.advokatsamfundet.dk/Advokatnaevnet.aspx or at Kronprinsessegade 28, 1306 Copenhagen K.
